The photo exhibition «Water, a bridge for peace» was held in collaboration with UNESCO-IHE and the Quebec Government on board the catamaran «Water Traveller» throughout the week of the Forum. Sponsored by the presidents of the four previous forums, Mr. Guy Le Moigne, Mr. Bert Diphoorn, Mr. Hideaki Oda and Mr. César Herrera, the exhibition consisted of 40 colour photos (40x60 cm format and 30x45 cm format) divided into two series.

Sometimes more than 1 000 years old, they are an integral part of the towns historic heritage. They show how successive civilisations have been able to adapt former structures, continue to develop them and preserve the know-how of those who manage them on a daily basis, called the «Water Travellers».

The second part of the exhibition presented ten examples of places and projects where water was a vector for collaboration and exchange among peoples, rather than a source of conflict. These illustrations were brought to the exhibition from the four corners of the Earth by two other «Water Travellers» Gwenael Prié and Lionel Goujon.
These two French engineers set off around the world in 2007 to discover specific problems relating to water and help identify solutions. Their volunteering experiences have been covered in 90 articles published by French newspaper Libération (http://aventure.blogs.liberation.fr).

The exhibition attracted around 500 visitors over the course of the week, and gave rise to many discussions between the photographers and World Water Forum participants on water issues in the world.
